This is despite the total failure of companies to give more and then claim back the difference, which was originally Gordon Brown's rationale for making the change in 2000. How much longer do we have to wait to get this decision changed and allow corporates to Gift Aid their donations? If you use 22% then your tax relief is accurate, but your claim doesn't follow the HMRC guidelines because you're claiming at the old rate. If you use 20% then when you do a gift aid repayment for gifts claimed in error it uses the wrong rate.
